Nuggets from Romans 1

It helps me to paraphrase Bible verses in my own words. Here’s what I liked about this chapter.

From Romans 1:

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you because people everywhere in the world are talking about your faith. I mention to you to God everytime I pray. I want to see you so that I can give you a spiritual gift to make you strong. I want us to help each other in the faith that we have. The Good News shows how God makes people right with him, and it begins and ends with faith. The scripture says, “Those who are right with God will live by faith.” (Hab. 2:4)

I liked this section of scriptures because it shows how Christians should act toward each other. Paul is thankful that his friends are making a stir for God, not jealous. And yet, he still keeps praying for them. He also understands that he can add to their walk with God, and that he can give them “spiritual gifts” to strengthen them. And yet, he doesn’t act superior; rather, he wants them to help each other, encouraging each other in faith. What a great example of caring and friendship.
