I am reading Psalms as part of the Bible reading plan I got from church for 2007.
I have always loved David, despite his flaws. I always identify with the Psalms… and I respect a king who would so freely express his love for God, his fears and his hopes. He made himself vulnerable before his people and his Lord.
Some verses that I like:
“I trust in your love.
My heart is happy because you saved me.
I sing to the Lord
because he has taken care of me.” (Ps. 13:5-6)
“No, the Lord is all I need.He takes care of me.
My share in life has been pleasant;
my part has been beautiful.
“I praise the Lord because he advises me.
Even at night, I feel his leading.
I keep the Lord before me always.
Because he is close by my side,
I will not be hurt.
So I rejoice and am glad…” (Ps. 16: 5-9)
